Daywise Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVAL AT NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT - GANGTOK

After the arrival at NJP Railway Station / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport, (413 Ft / 126 Mts) you will be meeting our office Executive who will be assisting you to board your vehicle towards Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650 Mts, 130 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs). Check in and stay overnight at Hotel. 

Day 2

GANGTOK – TSHANGU LAKE & BABA MANDIR EXCURSION

NRI, OCI, PIO Card holder & Foreign National are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir & Nathula Pass. They are allowed to visit till Tshangu Lake, with a valid permit. They also have to be 02 & above in number to visit Tshangu Lake. For Tshangu Lake &Nathula Pass there is no refund service, after the permit is confirmed by Sikkim Tourism, due to whatsoever reason (Land slide, Heavy rain fall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc).

After breakfast in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake (12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43 Kms in 03 Hrs one way from Gangtok) & Baba Mandir (13100 Ft / 3994 Mts / 16 Kms in 01 Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake, situated at a height of 12400 Ft / 3780 Mts / 43 Kms in 03 Hrs one way with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Transfer back to Gangtok and stay overnight at Hotel. (Incase of Landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed then an alternate sightseeing destination will be provided).

OPTIONAL NATHULA : One can opt for Nathula Excursion by paying a supplement cost.

Day 3

GANGTOK TO LACHEN

NRI, OCI, PIO Card holder & Foreign National will be allowed to visit Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang & Yumesamdong, with a valid permit. They also have to be 02 & above in number. For further details, click on ENTRY FORMALITY & DOCUMENT REQUIREMENT. For Lachung & Lachen there is no refund after the booking is confirmed whatsoever.

Pick from Gangtok Hotel and transfer to Lachen (9500 Ft / 2896 Mts, 130 Kms / 05 ½ to 06 ½ Hrs). On the way, visit Tashi view point, Seven sister’s water fall ((Subjected the vehicle take the normal route. These sightseeing points are included on complimentary basis & in case of diversions these points will be missed. There will be no refund in such case)). Overnight at Lachen.

Day 4

LACHEN – GORUDONGMAR LAKE EXCURSION

Excursion to Chopta valley & Gurudongmar (17800 Ft / 5427 Mts, 70 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs from Lachen). (No entry for foreigner national. They also have to be 02 & above in number to visit North Sikkim Lachen & Lachung. Foreigner national are allowed to visit till Thangu, with valid permit). This is one journey one cannot forget.  The day starts early at 5 am.  It is almost dark at this point of time. As your journey  go upward , the morning sun rays creates spectacular view of the  snow peaks, which looks like mountains made of Gold. From Lachen travel to Thangu (13000 Ft / 3963 Mts / 30 Kms / 02 to 2.5 Hrs from Lachen), which is a steep ascent. The only halt is at Thangu, for stretching & acclimatization. Here you have family kitchen which can serve you tea, bread, butter and maggi on direct payment. You will get to sit around the earthen furnace and experience the mountain life style. A further drive reaches to the virgin and uninhabited land of Chopta Valley (13500 Ft / 4116 Mts, 4 Kms / 30 to 45 min from Thangu). Many tourists, who are not comfortable with the altitude, limit their tour till Chopta valley, which is close proximity to Tibet. The valley is rich with Alpine vegetation. From here till Gurudongmar is mostly flat land with mountains and army bunkers on all sides.  This is a high altitude desert, with hardly any vegetation and is stony and dusty. Your vehicle makes its own way ahead and this is the reason one can get lost very easily. As it is a plateau, it is very cold & windy throughout the year. The advice is that one should not exert much as gasping breath is difficult at this altitude. In winters, Gurudongmar Lake is frozen except one corner which is considered to be very sacred. Army Jawans apart from guarding the border are always ready to help those who are in need.

Day 5

TRAVEL TO LACHUNG

Transfer to Lachung (8000 Ft / 2439 Mts, 60 kms/ 03 to 04 Hrs). Overnight at Lachung

Day 6

LACHUNG - YUMTHANG EXCURSION

Early in the morning proceed for a half day excursion to Yumthang Valley (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). Yumthang Valley is a day excursion from Lachung, which is an attraction for tourist visiting this region. The colorful Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary bloom between April to June, The soaring snow-capped peaks and herds of wandering yaks make this place a Himalayan paradise. The valley is also known for Hot spring. Although the water is quite dirty, many locals visit the area to get themselves soaked & cured as believed. Overnight at Yumthang hotel.

Optional Yumesamdong known as (Zero point) (15300 Ft / 4665 Mts, 24 Kms / 1.5 to 02 Hrs from Yumthang one way)
Yumesamdong is located beyond Yumthang. It is a journey from Yumthang trudges up through the rugged mountain road. The aroma of sweet fragrance of Ezilia (plant used by the inhabitant to manufacture incense sticks) permeates the air at Yumesamdong.

Day 7

LACHUNG TO GANGTOK

After breakfast transfer to Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650 Mts, 124 Kms / 05 ½ to 06 ½ Hrs).Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 8

GANGTOK TO YUKSOM

At morning go for a half day (04 hrs) sightseeing covering Jhakri Water Falls along with Do-rul Chhorten, Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Closed on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays) and Flower Show. During afternoon transfer to Yuksom (5840 Ft / 1780 Mts, 145 Kms /05 ½ to 06 ½ Hrs). Check in and Overnight at Yuksom. 

Note : If the sightseeing points like Research Institute of Tibetology& Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom are falling on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Nam Nang View Point and Enchey Monastery as an alternative sightseeing.

Day 9

YUKSOM TO PELLING

After breakfast visit Norbu Gang (the stone throne for the first king). This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Yuksom is the meeting place of three monks - the first capital of Sikkim and then drive towards Pelling (5500 Ft / 1675 Mts, 35 Kms / 02 Hrs) on way visit Kanchanjunga Water fall & Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts), it is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird. On the way witness the panoramic view of Darap Village & Rimbi Water fall. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 10

PELLING SIGHTSEEING TOUR

After breakfast we will proceed for Pelling sightseeing while covering Pemayangtse Monastery, Chenrezig Statue & Skywalk. After early Lunch we will continue the tour with sightseeing of Rimbi Water fall, Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts) & Kanchanjunga Water fall. Overnight at Pelling.

Day 11

PELLING TO KALIMPONG

Transfer to Kalimpong (4091 Ft / 1247 Mts, 115 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12

KALIMPONG TO DARJEELING

After Breakfast visit Dello hills, Flower Nurseries, Jang – Dong –Palriffo Brang and Durbin Dara Hills. Transfer to Darjeeling (6710 Ft / 2046 Mts, 70Kms / 03to 04Hrs). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13

DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Early morning tour to Tiger Hill (8482 Ft / 2586 Mts at around 04:00 AM) to get the sight of the sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), & panoramic view of Tea Estate. Overnight at Darjeeling.

Note: If the sightseeing points like Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoological Park falls on Thursday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Dali Monastery and Ava Art gallery as alternative sightseeing points.
If the sightseeing point like Tibetan Refugee Centre falls on Sunday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Ava Art gallery as an alternative sightseeing points.

Day 14

DARJEELING TO NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT

Transfer back to NJP Railway Station / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport, (413 Ft / 126 Mts, 100Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs) for onward connection.
